FTFAs Climate Change Response

How, what and why? As the world wakes up to the serious implications of climate change, South African social enterprise Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA), who realised the need to address this through conserving, planting and maintaining trees since they started in 1990, launched The Carbon Standard. This has now been transformed into the Carbon Protocol of South Africa. The Carbon Protocol of South Africa is a non-profit collaboration of concerned and interested parties in South Africa that sets consistent and transparent standards to calculate, verify and publicly report greenhouse gas emissions into a single registry. The Registry supports both voluntary and mandatory reporting programs and provides comprehensive, accurate data to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  To find out more and how you can use the logo to promote your low carbon status, visit the Carbon Protocol of South Africa Website.
